Make: Ducati
Model: 98
Year: 1953
Description: Selling a 1953 Ducati 98, brought over from Italy. It is a true early ‘50s lightweight, the bike that helped establish Ducati’s postwar reputation and they’re getting harder to find in any condition.
Needs a full restoration. Bike is largely complete, but expect a full teardown. Engine is in unknown condition, I have not tried to turn it over, and I don’t know when it last ran. Frame, tank, wheels, and major components are present. Sold “as is”, with no guarantees or warranties. Condition is exactly as shown and described. The buyer is responsible for inspection before purchase and pickup, or I can deliver for a gas fee.
Perfect candidates for:
• full factory-style restoration
• period-correct restomod
• or as a parts cache for another 98/100/125 project
Why it is worth grabbing:
• Complete bike from Italy, not pieced together from random parts
• Excellent base for a vintage café, scrambler, or concours-correct rebuild
• Ducati 98 parts are becoming scarce; having a nearly complete bike is a huge advantage
• Lightweight, simple engine and frame
- ideal for a first restoration or a winter project
• Clean, classic 1950s Ducati lines that look incredible once restored
Price: €300
If you’re looking for a rare vintage Ducati project, a donor for a restomod, or parts for your existing 98/100/125 build or 250 restomod build, this is a solid opportunity.
Early 1950s Ducati 98s are becoming increasingly rare, especially as nearly complete from Italy. Single non-running projects usually range from €300 to €800 depending on their completeness, and this bike is nearly complete. Ducati 98 parts are scarce, and the 1953 model year is highly desirable.
