Capodimonte porcelain, originating in Naples, Italy, in 1743 under King Charles VIl of Bourbon, is renowned for its high-quality, detailed soft-paste figures and, later, for intricate decorative arts including framed porcelain reliefs. The history of Capodimonte, particularly regarding framed pieces, can be divided into its initial royal period and its later evolution into 19th-century decorative items.
